Nossa primeira incursão na chamada Perna-Seca, a metade desocupada do edifício. O homem de capacete lá no fundo é o Jairo, engenheiro do hospital. Há um setor de engenharia na instituição, que cuida de sua manutenção e de seu contínuo re-desenho. Cada novo avanço da medicina supõe, em geral, a reconfiguração de um determinado espaço do edifício. O setor fica no térreo e conta com uma equipe de engenheiros, arquitetos, bombeiros hidráulicos, eletricistas e etc.
